Friday May 19
The first woman who was proclaimed a Doctor of the Church was Catherine of Siena, whose voice was heard strongly in the fourteenth century. She fought injustices and wars and did not stop even in front of the Pope. Equally powerful is the voice of Jesus who proposes the commandment of love, like a golden thread that ties many verses of the text of the Last Supper. There is no other way than love to be true friend to Christ, and not any kind of love but the one he intends to live in fullness: no greater love has he who gives life for his friends.
